Everyday Enamelware Tips
Here are a few tips from our test kitchen experts about Le Creuset Everyday Enamelware:
- Everyday Enamelware can be placed in the refrigerator and is also freezer-safe. But note that it’s not suitable for any type of heat source, such as in the oven or microwave, on the stovetop or grill, or outdoors on a grill or open fire.
- Wooden and silicone tools are best to use to prevent scratches and chips. Also when stacking or storing the pieces, it’s a good idea to use something like Felt Pan Protectors between the pieces.
- Never place Everyday Enamelware in the dishwasher. To clean, simply handwash with warm, soapy water and always dry thoroughly. To avoid scratching or damaging the enamel, we recommend using nylon or soft, non-abrasive pads or brushes.
- For more stubborn residues, staining or discoloration, fill the dish or bowl with warm soapy water and allow it to briefly soak to soften the residue and make it easier to remove. Just don’t leave your enamelware pieces submerged in water for extended periods of time.
- Note that the containers may become hot if filled with hot food or liquids, so use caution when handling heated or hot contents.
- The enameled surface is non-porous so it’s ideal for short-term storage of cooked or raw food. But prolonged storage of acidic food and beverages may eventually dull the surface, however this does not affect the performance of the piece.
