Flower Arrangement
With maximum surface area for displaying our iconic eye-catching colors, the Le Creuset 15.5 qt. Oval Dutch Oven is as beautiful as it is functional. This is why most people use it not only for cooking and serving, but also as kitchen décor. In fact, many people never put away their Le Creuset cookware, instead proudly displaying it on the table and filling it with plants and flowers to create eye-catching centerpieces that can change with the seasons. Since the Goose Pot measures in at over 15 inches long and 12 inches wide, when creating a floral display, we recommend laying out strips of clear tape in a grid pattern across the top of the pot to easily hold the arrangement in place.

Roasted Goose with Pears and Parsnips
The oval, 6.4-inch-deep shape and generous size of the 15.5 qt. Oval Dutch Oven was historically used for cooking large poultry, such as geese and turkeys. Crafted from our legendary enameled cast iron, the design provides superior heat distribution and retention to ensure that the bird cooks evenly and stays moist. This is how we think the name of “Goose Pot” originated, and to this day, a roast goose is still the ultimate showstopping centerpiece. We updated the classic roast goose recipe for modern kitchens and use a unique combination of wet and dry heat to create a goose with tender, juicy meat on the inside and crispy, lacquered skin.

Ice Bucket
The same superior heat retention principles of enameled cast iron that keep food warm can also work to keep food and beverages cold as well. This means that the Goose Pot can do double duty as a large-format beautiful and durable ice bucket at a party or get-together. If there’s room, store the Oval Dutch Oven in the fridge for a few hours first for maximum chilling effect, and then bring it straight to the table or patio. Place the lid on the pot to help keep the ice from melting too quickly, and set it on a tray (such as the Everyday Enamelware Tray to catch drips and condensation.
