Icons aren’t created overnight. They take shape slowly, through years of care, innovation, and reinvention. What makes them last is not perfection, but the ability to evolve while honoring what made them special in the first place. The balance of heritage and progress is what keeps something beloved and makes it timeless. At Le Creuset, we feel honored to be part of that story in kitchens around the world. Generations of cooks have welcomed us to their tables, and in turn, we’ve grown and adapted alongside them. Nearly a century later, our commitment to thoughtful design and meaningful innovation remains as strong as ever, carried forward with the same spirit that began in 1925.

Beyond Cast Iron
In 1925, founders Octave Aubecq and Armand Desaegher discovered a way to enhance the performance of cast iron cookware by coating it in porcelain enamel. This smooth, durable finish not only protected the cast iron but also brought new color and beauty into the kitchen. That early idea sparked a lasting commitment to craftsmanship and design that continues to guide Le Creuset today.
Over the years, we’ve continued to refine our cast iron – still at the heart of kitchens around the world – while also expanding to meet the needs of cooks in new ways. That journey has led us beyond cast iron to a full range of cookware, bakeware, dinnerware, and accessories—each created with the same care for quality and thoughtful design. From stoneware for baking and serving to brilliant stainless steel and durable non-stick cookware, vibrant dinnerware and thoughtfully designed accessories, our goal has always been to offer pieces that make cooking and sharing meals a little easier, a little more joyful, and built to last.

Beyond Flame
You can’t separate Le Creuset from bold, brilliant color. From the very beginning, color has been at the heart of our story. When Le Creuset was founded in 1925, most cast iron cookware was strictly grey and utilitarian. Our vibrant porcelain enamel changed that—bringing not only greater function, but also new joy and expression to the kitchen.
Flame, our first fiery orange, was just the start. Since then, we’ve remained devoted to the craft of color—blending artistry with technical expertise in our legendary Color Lab. Over the years, more than 200 hues have been perfected and introduced, setting trends and opening the door for cooks to bring more personality into their kitchens.
Today, color in cookware feels natural—something to be celebrated and expected. That shift began with Le Creuset, and it continues with every new shade we create.

Beyond the Kitchen
Le Creuset’s commitment to design has opened the door to many iconic collaborations over the years. Our cookware serves as a blank canvas for artists and designers—pieces that carry not only function, but also meaning.
In the late 1950s, we partnered with legendary French industrial designer Raymond Loewy. In the 1970s, Italian designer Enzo Mari brought his vision to our pieces. And today, we’re proud to debut our newest collaboration: a limited-edition Wicked x Le Creuset collection that invites you to turn up the drama and stir in a little magic. These special editions, along with many others, have become cherished by collectors and fans alike.
Over time, a “collector’s culture” has grown around Le Creuset. Some pursue pieces in a favorite color, while others hunt for rare vintage finds from our history. What unites them is the belief that each pot or pan represents more than cookware—it becomes part of a personal story, a memory shared, or a symbol of individual style. In this way, kitchens and homes evolve into galleries of color, heritage, and design.
