The Best Utensils for Le Creuset Cookware

If you’ve ever melted a plastic spatula in a frying pan or picked up a searing hot metal spoon you left on the side of a pot, you know how a poorly chosen utensil can easily ruin a cooking experience. Also, a beautiful and functional cookware collection is an investment, so you don’t want to risk damaging a carefully chosen pan by using the wrong type of spoon or spatula in it. A well-stocked kitchen needs a variety of cooking utensils to be sure you have the right tool for the task and also the perfect tool for your personal cookware collection. Here are our recommendations for the best utensils to use with every type of Le Creuset cookware, bakeware and tableware.

Silicone Spatulas and Basting Brushes

Designed from premium heat-resistant silicone in a variety of shapes and sizes, our colorful array of Silicone Spatulas and Spoons are safe for every pot, pan, baking and serving dish in the Le Creuset collection. They’re a must-have in the kitchen for many tasks – silicone is sturdy enough to stir thick batters but also flexible enough to scrape out pans and bowls without scratching. And if you’re looking for a tool with even more versatility, spatula spoons have a sturdy edge for breaking up ingredients and a shallow spoon for scooping – add a Basting Brush to round out your collection. The silicone heads are easy to clean in the dishwasher, but we recommend hand washing the wooden handles.

Wooden Spoons

A kitchen workhorse, our wooden spoons are crafted from durable beech wood which is safe for use on all cookware and bakeware materials as well. We especially recommend using them in our Enameled Cast Iron cookware, because the wood won’t scratch the enameled surface. Choose both a Slotted Spoon for removing larger items from cooking liquid, like potatoes boiling in water, and a solid Spoon for elegantly serving stews and casseroles at the table. And for deglazing the pan, our Wood Scraping Spoon is the perfect tool for easily getting all the delicious little bits of fond quickly off the bottom of a Dutch Oven. Just take care to hand wash any wooden utensils to ensure a long life in your kitchen.

Revolution Bi-Material Utensils

The Revolution Bi-Material Utensils combine the strength of glass-enforced nylon with an edge of pliable silicone, which makes them safe to use in all Le Creuset cookware, bakeware and tableware. The edges are thin and flexible enough to slide under cookies on a Non-stick Metal Cookie Sheet yet still strong enough to transfer a hefty portion of lasagna out of a stoneware Casserole or Baking Dish. Plus all Revolution Bi-Material utensils are dishwasher safe for easy cleanup. Since the edges are made with heat-resistant silicone, you can also use these tools for high-heat applications – just make sure you don’t rest them on the sides of a hot pan to protect the nylon handle.

Stainless Steel Collection

A chef’s favorite, sturdy stainless steel utensils are an excellent choice in the kitchen for both cooking and serving. Soups are easily served from enamel on steel Stockpots with a Ladle, while sturdy Locking Tongs are a must for serving noodles – when you’re finished cooking simply toss them in the dishwasher. Our stainless steel utensils are safe for use with the majority of our products, even our Toughened Non-stick PRO and Non-stick Metal Bakeware collections – just be sure not to scrape across the surface or knock them on the rim of a pot or pan. But it’s important to note that stainless steel utensils are NOT recommended for cooking in Enameled Cast Iron, as they could scratch the enameled surface.

Cooking Utensil Chart

A functional mix of materials in the utensil holder means you are ready for any kitchen task. But it’s important to know which one to use to prevent damage to either the cookware or the utensils. For quick reference, keep this chart handy to avoid second guessing your choice in the heat of the moment. And always keep in mind that electric beaters and knives are never recommended for use in our cookware.
