About Signature Stainless Steel Cookware
Stainless steel cookware is extremely versatile, and can go from stovetop to oven and then brought to the table for true one-pan ease. It is also non-reactive, durable and easy to clean, and can be used for every type of recipe and style of cooking. This is why it is a popular choice at home, but also especially in commercial and restaurant kitchens.
Le Creuset’s Signature Stainless Steel cookware was designed for performance in the kitchen and features a triple layer design. Since stainless steel is not a good conductor of heat on its own, we use an aluminum core to provide superior heat distribution. The core extends from the base of the pan all the way to the rim for even heating, with a refined fully sealed rim for dripless pouring.
The aluminum core is sandwiched between two layers of professional-grade stainless steel, with the outside layer being infused with titanium to create a beautiful and lighter weight pan. This mirror-polished exterior resists scorching, pitting and corrosion even at high temperatures to help maintain its shine and luster over time. The base is also magnetic, which means it will work on all stovetops including induction.
Compared to cast iron, stainless steel cookware is lighter and more responsive to changes in temperature. It also performs well at high temperatures to produce a beautiful golden-brown sear on your food. But note that stainless steel cookware is not necessarily as forgiving as non-stick cookware, so be sure to check out our cooking tips below.
Other unique features of the Signature Stainless Steel collection include laser-etched capacity markings to speed up prep and cooking, ergonomic stay-cool riveted handles, and built-in steam vents on the lids to prevent overflow and boiling over. Built to the same exceptionally high-quality standards you expect from Le Creuset, Signature Stainless Steel cookware is covered by a limited lifetime warranty.

Stainless Steel Cookware Cooking Tips
Here are a few cooking tips from our test kitchen experts to be sure you get the most from your Signature Stainless Steel cookware:
- It’s important to use some kind of oil, butter or other kind of fat when cooking with stainless steel cookware in order to prevent food sticking to the pan.
- Preheat the pan first over low to medium heat until the pan is hot. Stay close by so you can be sure the pan doesn’t get too hot.
- When the pan is hot, add enough oil, butter or fat to cover the bottom of the pan. Heat the oil until it is shimmering but not smoking.
- Signature Stainless Steel cookware has excellent heat distribution so for most recipes, you can use low to medium heat while cooking. For searing or stir-frying, start with medium-high heat, but once food is added to the pan turn down the heat.
- We know it seems counter-intuitive, but don’t use an aerosol cooking spray in any stainless steel pans that have a non-stick interior as it can damage the non-stick coating on the cookware.

How to Clean Stainless Steel
A major benefit of stainless steel cookware is that it is pretty easy to care for and clean. Signature Stainless Steel cookware is dishwasher-safe, but can also easily be washed by hand. After cooking, allow the pan to cool completely. Simply use a soft non-stick sponge to wash with warm water and mild dish soap. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Be sure to never use metal cleaning pads or abrasive cleaners on the cookware.
For tough stains or stuck-on food, soak the pot or pan in warm soapy water. Or place it on the stovetop, and gently simmer the soapy water for about 10 minutes to help soften the food and make it easier to remove. Since oil is necessary when cooking with stainless steel, over time you may find that the oil becomes baked onto the pot or pan leaving a greasy residue. To remove the residue, we recommend using our Stainless Steel Cookware Cleaner or other non-abrasive cleaner occasionally to keep your cookware looking great.
