Set a Magical Scene
To get everyone into the wizarding spirit, create an enchanting and cozy home theater experience. Curl up on the couch with plenty of fluffy pillows, blankets and sleeping bags. Or if the couch isn’t large enough to accommodate everyone, push it aside and park a mattress from the kids’ room in front of the TV so the whole gang can cozy up on the floor.
Take a cue from the Great Hall at Hogwarts™ and light plenty of candles. Or string up fairy lights around the room or suspend them from the ceiling, and turn down the electric lights to give the room more of a magical environment (since electricity and magic do not get along). Be sure to invite your favorite two and four-legged creatures to snuggle up too, even if it is just the Hedwig Pie Bird™ sitting beside you.
As for what to wear, naturally you should dress in something cozy, comfortable and in the colors of your favorite Hogwarts house. Pajamas are the obvious choice for movie night, but at a minimum a festive scarf similar to the colorful ones at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry™ will do in a pinch. You could even share your house pride by throwing the Hogwarts Houses Potholder over your shoulder to keep you fashionable and protected throughout the evening. And since you can never have enough socks, be sure to wear all of your favorite pairs (and they don’t need to match).
Spellbinding Recipes to Make
In the kitchen is where the magic of cooking truly comes alive with the Le Creuset x Harry Potter Collection, providing a world filled with possibilities. A case in point is that favorite movie night treat, popcorn. When popped in the Harry Potter™ Signature Round Dutch Oven or the Quidditch™ Signature Round Dutch Oven it is transformed from an ordinary dish into a dazzling one. The recipe for Dutch oven popcorn is certainly not a mystery and is a fun culinary adventure for the whole family. Simply follow these steps:
- Add 3 tablespoons oil to a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Any kind of high-heat oil works here, but we recommend vegetable, canola, avocado or coconut oil.
- Drop 3 test kernels in the oil, cover with the lid, and wait until you hear the kernels pop. Take off the lid and carefully remove the test kernels once popped with a silicone spatula or skimmer. This ensures that your oil is hot enough for popping.
- Next add 1/3 cup kernels, cover, and shake the Dutch oven occasionally to prevent burning. Reduce the heat to medium-low when you hear the kernels start to pop rapidly, and remove the pot from the heat when the popping slows to 2-3 seconds between pops.
