"The Deep Oven is a great pot for making Thai curries. The higher sides help prevent oil from spitting everywhere."

Crafted from Enameled Cast Iron
A culinary icon goes deep - we took our legendary Dutch Oven and made it taller. But just like its sibling, the Deep Oven is individually crafted by French artisans from our finest quality enameled cast iron. Beloved for its exceptional heat distribution and retention, it’s a favorite of master chefs and home cooks alike. The light-colored interior enamel has a smooth finish to promote caramelization, and allows easy monitoring of the cooking progress. Easy to clean and dishwasher-safe, the Deep Oven is available for a limited time in a wide variety of your favorite Le Creuset colors.

Added Height Contains Splatters
The added height of the Deep Oven contains liquids when simmering, and it also reduces the risk of boilover when simmering or boiling. This means there is less mess and cleanup on your stove and counter when you’re finished cooking. Also, the extra depth provides enough room for true deep frying without fear of grease splatters – the excellent heat retention of cast iron will keep the oil at the optimal temperature to produce food with a crispy crust and juicy, delicious interior.

More Capacity, Less Stovetop Space
Since the capacity of the Deep Oven is in the height of the vessel, not the width, the result is that you get added capacity that takes up less stovetop space. This makes the Deep Oven perfect for long simmers of stocks and sauces on a back burner, and the excellent heat retention of our enameled cast iron means that you only need to keep it on a low heat seating. The smaller footprint of the Deep Oven is also ideal in kitchens where stovetop space is at a premium, or simply leave it out on the stove all the time as a beautiful and functional accent piece to complement your kitchen.

Tall Sides Lock in Flavor
The taller sides and additional depth of the Deep Oven slows down evaporation of liquids to help retain moisture. It allows the food to stack in layers which means more time for the flavors to infuse and mingle creating depth and complexity in your recipes. With the tight-fitting lid on, the steam and moisture will also continue to circulate within the pot to create meltingly tender meats and vegetables. Even though the Deep Oven is tall, your food will still always be perfectly cooked from top to bottom.

Versatile from Stove to Oven to Table
With its versatile shape and size, the Deep Oven is great for soups, stews, stocks, boiling pasta, frying chicken, one pot meals and more. The depth of the pot is also perfect for bubbling casseroles, poaching fish and poultry, steaming whole crabs and lobsters, or making family-style meals like a seafood boil or clam bake. It’s like the best of a Dutch Oven and a Stockpot in one convenient piece of cookware, and seamlessly goes from stove to oven to table.
