      STONEWARE

      Quality Performance

Le Creuset stoneware is perfectly suited to baking pies, quiches, casseroles and more. It heats evenly, to prevent hot spots and cook food in a uniform fashion. The result is a golden brown crust with fully cooked ingredients throughout.

      Superior Finish

The smooth, impermeable glaze resists staining and easily releases foods, making cleanup a breeze.

      Versatile

Stoneware is safe for the oven, broiler and microwave. And because it resists stains and odors, it’s ideal for storing foods in the refrigerator or freezer.

I purchased 3 different sizes over a year ago. I use them a couple of times per month for fruit cobblers, brownies, lasagne and other types of casseroles. Typically my dishes are cooking between 350 and 400 degrees. I like this bakeware because of the nice deep sides and large end panels that are used as handles. Also, they look good on the table when serving. I've given to sister, daughter, and niece as gifts. All have had good reports so far.

i gave this as a gift to my sister and it cracked in the oven the first time she used it! i am so disappointed! when i called customer service, they told me they would replace it for free but i have to pay the cost of shipping it to them. i am very disappointed that the customer service does not match the reputation of this brand. i would expect le creuset to pay for shipping and to offer me an exchange credit for some other item or a full refund because i certainly dont want to buy this same item again!

Comments about Le Creuset Heritage Rectangular Dish:

Nine months in, cooking for a dinner party, the whole end portion broke off as I was removing it from the oven. Needless to say, contents on the door, floor and my foot, and it was scalding hot. Now granted, cooking in flip flops is not a good idea, but instant blister. The dish had two, what I thought were, superficial cracks in the finish. I was certainly not expecting that to happen. Very disappointed, as I loved this dish and Le Creuset products. Since nine of the ten other reviews said theirs cracked also, I must give a thumbs down on this one. Very disappointed.

Comments about Le Creuset Heritage Rectangular Dish:

I am very disappointed not only in the product since a large piece of it broke off in the oven but also in the fact that when I called customer service for a replacement, they said I would have to pay the shipping to the facility. These products are heavy and will not cost just a couple of dollars to ship! Never-mind the hassle. Now looking at reviews I can see that many other people have had the same problem.

Comments about Le Creuset Heritage Rectangular Dish:

I bought this to replace a cheaper brand that broke by dropping. This one I didn't even have to drop! It broke in two in the oven all on its own. I had only used it a few time for lasagna, but this time I was roasting chicken breasts at 450. The bakeware came from the cupboard (room temperature) where it had been at least a month (not moist from washing). There is no reason other than poor quality.

I have used this a couple of times and it cracked in 2 pieces. I am very disappointed after spending this kind of money. I wish I would have read the reviews first. Unfortunately, I thought the name implied quality, but was sadly mistaken. I will not buy another piece of this product unless Customer Service is willing to help.

This is the second Le Creuset stoneware piece I've owned that randomly cracked with minimal usage. VERY disappointing and a waste of money. I will not buy another. I've had Pyrex baking dishes that are much more durable for far less money.

I treat all of my cookware with the greatest of care. I followed the instructions on this baking dish 100% - no soaking, do not go from extreme temperatures, let cool before cleaning. Tonight I was cooking a pork loin at 425 in a calibrated oven. When I opened the door, the baking dish was split in half.

I read in other reviews that once I send the baking dish in (at my expense) there may be a chance of Le Creuset not replacing it, but sending me a coupon for a discounted purchase. I'm not comfortable with that. Very disappointed. Wish I hadn't bought so many pieces.
