      ENAMELED CAST IRON

Since 1925, Le Creuset cast iron has been recognized for its strength and durability. Cast individually in sand molds, then hand-inspected by French artisans, each piece represents a rich heritage and continues a tradition of lasting, authentic design.

      Heat Retention

Cast iron distributes heat slowly and evenly over the entire vessel, making it ideal for all forms of cooking, whether slow-cooking, roasting, searing, stir-frying or baking.

      Smooth Interior Enamel

The glass-like finish in our ovens and braisers promotes caramelization, resists staining and prevents sticking to make cleanup easy.

      Black Interior Enamel

The black interior of our skillets is specially formulated for high-temperature cooking, and does not require seasoning.

Comments about Le Creuset Panini Press:

The best press for use w/ LeCruset Square Grill. The cover is large enough to completely cover whatever's in the grill, which means everything cooks evenly. It's a bit heavy, but that's exactly what's wanted in a press.

My favorite use for it is when making paninis, although it works very well for stove top grilling of a steak, pork chop, or fish.

I've had my Square Grill and Panini Press for so long that I no longer remember when I got them - perhaps 10 or more years? Being Le Creuset, they look as good as the day I got them, and I use them a lot.

Comments about Le Creuset Panini Press:

I was delighted to add the LC grill pan to my growing LC collection and allowed the sales person at the LC outlet to upsell this panini press to me. I could see multiple nifty uses for this tool! However I'm frustrated with the contradiction of whether I can use this product effectively with my stovetop. The instructions state: "The panini press can only be used successfully on gas or electric radiant stovetop. DO NOT USE on any glass, or solid electric stovetop, where the heat to the press will be inefficient." I have a ceramic, electric radiant cooktop. Which is also considered a glass solid electric cooktop. So according to the LC sales people and the LC website data for this product under heat source, the press can heat efficiently on my burners. According to the booklet instructions, however, it can and it can't. My use of the product suggests it can't as I'm finding that the burner does not get the press hot enough to make any more than indentions (probably the weight) in the food. I only resolved this problem by heating the press in the oven...something I'm willing to do for grilled meats, but not for when making sandwiches.

Panini PressCrafted from durable cast iron, the panini press simultaneously heats the top of grilled sandwiches as they heat along the bottom in the square Skillet Grill. The ribbed, weighted press also features a convenient phenolic knob for safe and secure lifting of the press when cooking is complete.

Hot sandwiches like panini are enjoyed the world over, though the technique of grilling sandwiches filled with deli meats, cheeses and vegetables originated in Italy. Derived from the word panino in Italian (meaning small bread), panini sandwiches are often finished with a simple garlic rub or served alongside a fresh olive or pasta salad.

          Features

          • Le Creuset’s durable satin black enamel finish (no seasoning required)
          • Even heat distribution and superior heat retention
          • A heat-resistant phenolic knob provides a safe grip when lifting
