Comments about Le Creuset Mariner Star Round Dutch Oven:

My husband bought me this dutch oven for Valentine's Day. I'm an avid collector of all things Le Creuset but this item is by far my favorite piece. This pot sits on a shelf with numerous other pieces of Le Creuset cast iron but it truly stands out; it is absolutely stunning. I've used it to make a handful of soups and breads--it's easy to use and even easier to clean.

          Love this piece!

Comments about Le Creuset Mariner Star Round Dutch Oven:

I received this beautiful Mariner's Star French Oven yesterday. I guess my fiancé picked up on my (not so subtle) hints that I was absolutely swooning over this cookware. I have nautical tattoos up and down my arm, blue is my favorite color, and I had been wanting a piece of Le Creuset enameled cast iron for quite some time. It was meant to be. Anyway, i christened the french oven today by making a pot roast, simple recipe with amazing results. I loved every bit of the process with this pot, sautéing the veggies, browning the meat, and then slow cooking it all together. Tomorrow I will be making chicken and dumplings in it! Also, mine is number 1186, the month and year of my fiancé's birthday! Tell me this wasn't meant to be!!! :D

Comments about Le Creuset Mariner Star Round Dutch Oven:

I have had other, less traditional pieces of Le Creuset for years. I was in the market for a french oven and had settled on a 4 1/2 qt Ink pot at my local LC store when I spied this. The undeniable functionality aside, the design on the lid and the color have only served to make me a bigger LC fan. I christened the vessel by making... french onion soup. C'etais fantastique! Merci beaucoup, LC!

Comments about Le Creuset Mariner Star Round Dutch Oven:

Received my Le Creuset Mariner Dutch Oven!! It's No. 1025 out of 1925- I'm middle of the pack! It's absolutely perfect! I opened the box like I was revealing a lost relic, ever so careful. I was pleasantly surprised to see the kid glove treatment my pot received from Le Creuset. The silver knob on the lid is printed with the number of the pot, there's also a velvet pouch that contains a cable and metal tag also printed with the number of the pot on it to be able to add the tag to it if I wish to do so. But even more surprising was the booklet that came with it, giving the company history and talking about the special design of the mariner star and how it's made, and at the end of the booklet the number of my pot had been hand written into the book and initialed by the designer. The mariner star design on the lid is just gorgeous and is perfectly set off by the Marseilles blue, how appropriate. This Dutch oven is certainly the "Star" of my kitchen!

Comments about Le Creuset Mariner Star Round Dutch Oven:

I just ordered mine! I've been wanting a round Dutch oven for a long time, I'm so glad I held out. Now I'll have a very special one; one that no one else will have. I get mine in a week, can't wait to see what number it is in the series!

It's perfect for stews, soups, gumbo, roasted chicken, lamb shanks, bread and anything I can dream up. The mariner star is so unique as is the color. I lived in France for many years and explored all over including Marseilles, falling in love with it's culture, cuisine and people. Every time I use this special edition Mariner Star Dutch oven it will always remind me of my time spent in France. Bon Appetit!

This is my first dutch oven. I have wanted one for years but could never justify the price. Saw this limited edition and had to have it. I was bound to get one anyway and was able to get it as a christmas gift. Love the star design and it so unique to be a few to get one. I am number 914. Even if you already have one or more, and love Le Creuset than you have to get this oven!

I'm so excited for this to get here. I have other pieces and I love this cookware! I know I'm getting quality when I purchase Le Creuset. I love the variety of colors and especially this color of the Mariner pot. Almost all the pieces I have are the Cherry color. Will definitely be using this to make soups and stews!!!

Mariner Star Round Dutch OvenSince 1925, our wide range of beautifully designed cookware has reflected our commitment to blending art and craft. With this first edition of the Architecture & Design Series, we celebrate the continued passion for inspiring design.

This limited-edition round Dutch oven was inspired by the mariner star, a symbol found on compasses and used for centuries to navigate the winds that blow along the Mediterranean coast. The northwest point of the star represents the mistral wind that blows through the port city of Marseille, France. Each year, Marseille residents gather for the Fête du Vent, a festival that celebrates this famous mistral wind.

The lid's raised design was cast in a one-of-a-kind sand mold and hand-enameled in a deep, Marseille-inspired blue. Each stainless steel knob is individually numbered, and a display medallion is provided.

                Features
                • Honoring the year of Le Creuset’s inception, only 1,925 were made before the sand mold was destroyed
                • Colorful, long-lasting exterior enamel resists chipping and cracking; interior enamel is engineered to resist staining and dulling
                • Sand-colored interior enamel makes it easy to monitor food as it cooks, preventing burning and sticking
                • Oversized handles provide even weight distribution and a secure grip
                • Built-in lid stabilizers provide a secure, no-slide fit
                • The lightest weight per quart of any premium cast iron cookware available
