Herbes de Provence-Crusted Turkey

Created for the Signature 5 1/4 qt. Roaster

  • 1 1/2 sticks (12 tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ounce dried herbes de Provence
  • 14-pound fresh turkey
  • Salt
  • Pepper


Preheat oven to 325 F.

In a small bowl, combine butter and herbes de Provence. Set aside.

Rinse turkey with cold water and pat dry. Set the turkey in the roasting pan. Truss the turkey and coat with the herbed butter. Season with salt and pepper. Cover loosely with foil and bake 2 hours, basting occasionally.

Uncover the turkey and bake an additional 1 hour and 20 minutes or until juices run clear, continually basting. Let rest 20 to 25 minutes prior to carving.
