        I was seduced by this piece at a Le Creuset store in Niagara Falls. Since then, it has become one of my favorite pieces of cookware. Sure, it cooks remarkably tender dishes in less time than a crockpot, but it's also ideal for sautéing on baking. It is easily my go-to piece in the kitchen, and usually sits on the stove top, ready for use.

          Where do I even begin? How about "Not just for North African cuisine". I've used this to prep spiced cinnamon apples, Swedish meatballs, a whole chicken, not to mention Moroccan food, Indian, Italian, and the list goes on. I've used it to prep ingredients, cook meals, sauces, glazes, braise meats for later use, break down garlic cloves, etc. It has probably become the most versatile piece of Le Creuset cookware I own, and I own quite a few! Once you're comfortable using this piece, it will always become the center piece when entertaining. People always ask "what is that?", and tend to gather in the kitchen. My biggest complaint about it is that I'm just now finding out about the 4 1/2 qt version?!?! I guess I know what I'm getting for my birthday!

            Pros: - love this piece! I use it for anything that fits in it. It is so versatile that one can use it for any number of things, not just for traditional tagine cooking. Stir fry, slow cooking, stews, casseroles, desserts. The base makes for a great apple crisp pan! About the only thing I don't make in this are soups - not really deep enough to hold much liquid. The cast iron base makes this piece so versatile that your imagination is the only limit on what you can do in this special piece.
            I keep mine out on display because it's just too pretty to hide away in a cabinet.

              I spent two weeks in Morocco this past spring. I became fascinated by the wonderful tagines cooked over charcoal in eathenware tagines (the food and the cookware are both called tagines) So, when I returned home, I was delighted to find that Le Creuset had a tagine in its lineup that could be used on a stove top. My new tagine performed beautifully the first time I used it. It kept the food at a bare simmer just like it was supposed to do. I'm going to love experimenting with this new cookware - so many possibilities!

              I love to cook and experiment with different cuisines. I looked a long time for a tagine. I own Creuset's older/first model and couldn't be happier. It cooks beautifully and the base makes a wonderful presentation platter at the table. The tagine makes anything you prepare in it special and when I make a lemon chicken tagine the meat falls off the bone and is suffused with flavor and spices from the slow cooking. Ahhhhh, perfection!

                  This was the best impulse buy!!! I am an extremely busy student and don't have a lot of time to cook, but the tagine is amazing. I have never made complex dishes and the first meal that I cooked in the tagine turned out exquisite!! I can't wait to try more!!!

                    Bought the red tagine last week and made the chicken recipe that came with the tagine. Best lemon chicken, extremely moist, flavorful. Can't say enough. Le Creuset is the best.
