How do I care for my Le Creuset cookware?

To learn the proper way to care for your Le Creuset cookware, please refer to the Care and Use brochure included in your item’s box, or view our website’s Care and Use page.

You should take care to never drop your pot or drag it across a cooktop. Such actions may permanently damage the enamel, and are not covered by warranty.

Although much of our cookware is dishwasher-safe, in most cases we recommend washing by hand.

Remember to always use low or medium settings on direct heat sources; high heat may cause a pan to scorch.

With a traditional sense of craftsmanship and hands-on attention to detail, the artisans at our Fresnoy le Grand foundry have kept chefs and culinary enthusiasts in mind, and their work reflects the real demands of a working kitchen. Our product lines are crafted to achieve optimal weight and heat retention properties. Le Creuset cookware is versatile, ergonomic, extremely resistant to wear and tear, and guarantees excellent cooking results.

What is the ideal temperature for cooking with Le Creuset cast iron products?

To learn the safest way to use your Le Creuset cookware, please refer to the Care and Use brochure located in your item’s box, or view our website’s Care and Use page.

It is best to use low or medium heat settings with Le Creuset cast iron products. This material retains heat so well that a higher setting will cause burning, sticking and discoloration. Use high heats only when boiling water or reducing the consistency of stocks or sauces.

There are brown marks on the inside of my pot. How do I remove them?

For normal wear-and-tear, Le Creuset offers cast iron and stainless steel cookware cleaners. To prevent staining, use only medium or low heat settings. However, stains will occur with use, and we recommend filling a pot with one part enzyme laundry detergent and three parts water. Boil for ten minutes, let cool and discard solution. Wash the pot with regular dish detergent, rinse and dry. To restore your pot’s sheen, apply a light coat of white vinegar.

A small piece of enamel on the inside of my pot chipped away. Is it safe to use, and how do I fix it?

If the chip is on the outside of the pot, it is still safe to use. Coat the chipped spot with oil to keep moisture out. However, if the chip is on the inside, we recommend sending the piece to be evaluated. If we determine the chip to result from a workmanship error, we will replace the piece free of cost; if it is the result of misuse, we will offer you a new piece at a discounted price. Send the piece to:
