      ENAMELED CAST IRON

Since 1925, Le Creuset cast iron has been recognized for its strength and durability. Cast individually in sand molds, then hand-inspected by French artisans, each piece represents a rich heritage and continues a tradition of lasting, authentic design.

      Heat Retention

Cast iron distributes heat slowly and evenly over the entire vessel, making it ideal for all forms of cooking, whether slow-cooking, roasting, searing, stir-frying or baking.

      Smooth Interior Enamel

The glass-like finish in our ovens and braisers promotes caramelization, resists staining and prevents sticking to make cleanup easy.

      Black Interior Enamel

The black interior of our skillets is specially formulated for high-temperature cooking, and does not require seasoning.

Comments about Le Creuset Cast Iron Mini Cocotte:

I initially bought only one because of the expense, and was unsure if I would like it. I do love it. I helps me to satisfy my sweet tooth without overindulging. I just cut up a medium apple and sprinkle with a little brown sugar and cinnamon. I bake at 350 degrees. Perfect

Comments about Le Creuset Cast Iron Mini Cocotte:

I love this adorable cocotte in the bright cheery red color. It holds 1/3 quart (1.25 cups) and is perfect for a single serving portion of macaroni and cheese or cobbler. My husband and I try to eat smaller portions so we will often split something made in this. Anything that you would use a ramekin for, you can use this for to hold about twice the volume. I love the heat retention of the cast iron and the quality of this piece.

Comments about Le Creuset Cast Iron Mini Cocotte:

Your french (not nearly as good as LC) competitor has always offered cast iron warmers for their mini cocottes and their mini-saucepans (super cute - little cocottes with a long handles). That makes them much better as butter servers for lobster and better to keep sauces or chocolate or cheese warm. The LC stoneware candle warmer is cute and I def have a few of them, but they barely keep Stoneware, let alone cast iron. I have two vintage butter warmers that I wish you'd re-release (with lids this time). Please consider???? Thanks from want to stay loyal to LC cust

Comments about Le Creuset Cast Iron Mini Cocotte:

This little darling is so versatile! I use it in the oven for single serving cobbler, goulash, pot pie, and such. It's perfect for warming sauces and melting butter on the top rack of the grill. I also use it on the stovetop for cooking and reheating single servings, and for melting butter and making small amounts of sauces when a larger saucier is overkill. It's also perfect for cooking one serving of rice and couscous. The mini cocotte is a terrific tool for portion control. This small piece is easy to clean just like the Le Creuset skillets and grill pans. On the few occasions that food residue has stuck in the bottom, I've filled it with very hot water and let it rest for a few minutes. When needed, I've emptied the water and sprinkled baking soda over the residue and let rest, rinsed out and washed as usual. Wallah, it has cleaned up without any problems. The only drawback to this mini cocotte is the price that's a bit stiff when cost-to-size is considered. Thus, it got four stars instead of five.

Comments about Le Creuset Cast Iron Mini Cocotte:

The interior is a rough black finish. Nothing like the rest of my pans with the very smooth sand colored finish. I almost thought they were a knock off made in China but I did some research and they are definitely genuine. If you cook anything in these that is not mostly a liquid like soup it is going to stick to the surface and be very hard to clean.
